When shoes are not organized and placed back in a specific location every day they can easily get misplaced. It can also be very frustrating to have one shoe and the other one is missing. Below are several ways you can organize your shoes to keep them from being scattered all over your home:

Make Use of Shelves

Making good use of existing shelves or even installing a few shelves to your closet can save you the agony of scattered shoes. As long as there is space in the closet, you can add shelves to one wall and keep all your shoes together. This will leave plenty of space for other items. This is particularly appropriate if you have a large walk-in closet.

Hanging Shoe Storage

Hanging shoe racks are a relatively inexpensive item that can be found at most home goods stores. They work perfectly in closets that are smaller. However, make sure that the rack is secure enough so that the shoes do not slant in an awkward manner.

Use a Shoe Rack

You can either buy or build your own shoe rack to store shoes. In whichever scenario, you need to ensure that there is ample space for you to put them in. On average, a shoe rack can comfortably store approximately 20 pairs of shoes. Whenever you are shopping for a tailor-made shoe rack, you need to consider the type of shoes that you are going to store on the rack to determine the type of shoe rack you need. Another alternative is to use a bookshelf as a shoe rack.

In addition to the above methods, it is also a good idea to have a designated spot at each entry point of your home for people to remove wet or dirty shoes. The entry storage system will keep ant messy shoes from dirtying up your home and they can still be easily found when needed. And if you are interested in having a maid service assist you with keeping your home neat and clean, then do not hesitate to contact The Maids of Minneapolis, in St Louis Park, Minnesota.
